With a wealth of experience as a Dental Therapist and Orthodontic Auxiliary specializing in Invisalign, Tanya is here to elevate your dental experience to new heights.

Tanya’s journey into dentistry began with her graduation from AUT in 2007, where she earned her Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health. Armed with a deep understanding of oral health therapy, she’s well-versed in procedures for assessing oral health and preventing dental issues, especially in patients up to the age of 18.

Her passion for orthodontics led her to pursue further education, earning a Certificate of Orthodontic Assisting from the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting, USA, in 2008. Through this, she gained invaluable skills in implementing orthodontic treatment plans and providing essential oral health education.

But Tanya’s expertise doesn’t stop there. In 2021, she took on the role of Onboarding/iTero Practice Development Manager at Align Technology (Invisalign), where she trains dentists on utilizing the latest advancements in dental technology. Her dedication ensures that our patients receive nothing short of the best care available.

WORK HISTORY:

2021-Current Invisalign Australia- Onboarding Practice Development Manager

• Support Dentists throughout their accreditation process to become Invisalign providers across New Zealand.
• Provide clinical and hands-on training such as software and how to communicate to patients.
• Speaker for international education events

2008 – 2020 Titirangi Dental Centre working as a Dental Therapist/Orthodontic Auxiliary

• Placing fixed braces and monitoring their monthly progress (wire and bracket changes)
• Placing and removing Invisalign attachments and reviewing their progress every 8 weeks
• 3D scanning, X-ray taking (panoramic, and CT) and orthodontic photos, uploading clin checks, and assisting with clin check adjustments.
• Making and placing fixed wires for retention and making pressure-formed retainers
• Treating children from 0-12 in private practice within my dental therapy scope.
• Treating children 13-18 y/o with the government contract in private practice.
• Teaching and supporting new Dental Therapist graduates who have worked at Titirangi Dental Centre.
• Educating patients on the importance of proper oral hygiene, advocating for overall health and beautiful smiles
