Often, the canals have extensive branching, which creates an excellent environment for pathogenic organisms. An advanced inflammatory process penetrates through the tooth enamel and dentin, affecting the pulp tissue and beginning to destroy the root canals. Treating the tooth canals involves a series of measures to remove the affected part of the pulp, clean and expand the canals, followed by their filling.

Stages of Tooth Canal Treatment The procedure consists of preparatory measures and the actual treatment. 1. Numbing the part of the gum and jaw around the affected tooth. 2. Protecting the affected tooth from saliva. 3. Opening the tooth to access the affected pulp. 4. Removing dead pulp tissue and material from the tooth canal. If necessary, the nerve is removed painlessly. Disinfection of the canals is carried out. 5. Drying the root canals. If needed, a disinfectant medication is placed. 6. Filling the canals. 7. Restoring the crown part of the tooth, which may also include placing posts in the canal for subsequent reconstruction of the tooth.
